This weekend is one of my favorite weekends of the year: MileHiCon! I highly recommend attending, if you haven’t already. It’s a spectacular science fiction and fantasy literary convention, and John Scalzi will be there for panels, meet and greets, and autographs. It will be held at Hyatt Regency Aurora, across the street from Anschutz Hospital. 13200 E 14th Pl, Aurora, CO 80011

DASFA will be sponsoring a pizza party in the Con Suite at MileHiCon on Saturday, October 24, from noon to 2pm. I hope to see you there! If you’d like, you can bring a dessert or veggies/fruit to share.

I’ll be dressing as a Pikachu for the MileHiCon masquerade, and playing the Pokémon theme on violin - one of our new members, Alci, will be joining me dressed as a trainer! Please let me know if you’d like to put together a Pokémon-inspired costume (I can help, have more ideas than I could possibly use) and be a part of the group!

A relatively new convention (or maybe just less well-known) coming up next month is DakuCon, November 13-15, also at the Hyatt Regency Aurora. It is an 18+ geek convention with a lot to offer. (Please note that many elements of the con will consist of adult content.) http://dakucon.org

I hope to see you soon! Have a splendidly spooky Halloween season.

Cheers,
Lorelei Suzanne Bowman
